I am passionate about and committed to working with clients. I feel honored to be a part of a client’s journey. My approach is engaging and straightforward, welcoming and affirming, and respectful and compassionate.

I enjoy working with adults and elders, individuals, couples, and groups. I maintain a general counseling practice covering a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship issues (work, social, family, and romantic), life transitions (expected and unexpected), women’s issues, and couples counseling.

I have additional training and experience in the specialty areas of LGBTQ+, gifted adults and parenting gifted children, geriatric mental health, trauma recovery, and dual diagnosis (co-occurring mental health and substance abuse). I am a Certified EMDR therapist and an EMDR Consultant-in-Training.

I strive for excellence in my work and instill this value in every aspect of my care. Providing ethical, respectful, and caring counseling, I work to provide an environment where clients feel understood and safe so they can address whatever issue brought them to counseling. I tailor care to meet individual needs and situations and engages with each client in an authentic manner.

    THE DARING WAY™

    ABOUT THE DARING WAY™

The Daring Way™ is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The method was designed for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders. It can be facilitated in clinical, educational, and professional settings. During the process facilitators explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness. Participants are invited to examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding them back and identify the new choices and practices that will move them toward more authentic and wholehearted living. The primary focus is on developing shame resilience skills and developing daily practices that transform the way we live, love, parent, and lead. Further information is available at www.thedaringway.com.

    ABOUT RISING STRONG™

The physics of vulnerability is simple: If we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall. Rising Strong is a book about what it takes to get back up and how owning our stories of struggle gives us the power to write a daring new ending. Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and the clearest path to a wholehearted life.

Here’s how Brené describes the progression of her work:

The Gifts of Imperfection – Be you.

Daring Greatly – Be all in.

Rising Strong – Fall. Get up. Try again.
